Nature Connection Retreat

November 6th-12th

Mission

It’s my aim to connect travelers with people and authentic experiences. The focus is on sharing local farming knowledge / growing techniques, herb specialists, and various cultures such as Maya and Garifuna.

I wish to foster more Networking and Community: Retreats often attract like-minded individuals from around the world who share a passion for wellness, food sovereignty, history, growing techniques, etc. By participating in a group experience such as this, you can connect with fellow practitioners, exchange knowledge, build a supportive community, create extended family.

THIS RETREAT IS FOR YOU..

Calling all farm heads, bird nerds, tree huggers and the like! If you’re a nature lover like me and want to be immersed in the regional knowledge of local growers, lush flora / fauna, meaningful connections, and cultural exposure, then join us, this retreat is for you!

I’ve spent some time farming in the states and learning a lot. I’ve enjoyed all the various practices along the way, but nothing prepared me for the lessons I’ve learned in Belize. While I still have lots to learn, I’m honored to share with travelers what I’ve discovered in beautiful Belize.

Enjoy the Serene and Natural Environment. The rainforest in Belize provides a tranquil and serene environment. Surrounded by lush greenery, exotic wildlife, and the soothing sounds of nature, you can feel deeply connected to the Earth and tap into its healing energy.

Experience Personal Growth and Self-Care. Our retreats provide an opportunity for self-reflection, self-care, and personal growth. In the midst of nature's beauty, you can disconnect from the busyness of everyday life, rejuvenate your mind and body, and cultivate a sense of inner peace and balance.

Bullet Tree Falls Village, just 3 miles from the Cayo District's main hub and town of San Ignacio, is the last outpost before the great forests to the west, south, and north. Though mostly Spanish speaking, everyone also speaks English. Located just outside the village, Parrot Nest Lodge consists of two tree houses and seven garden cabins, some with private bathrooms and others sharing two bathhouses. Meals are served on the veranda of the main house. You’ll enjoy this truly relaxed environment surrounded by nature. There are two gentle dogs on premises that are very sweet. The village is just a few minutes' walk to get to the Bullet Tree Taxi stand, small restaurants, bakery and grocery stores, Parrot Nest is snuggled in its own jungle peninsula, but the village can sometimes be heard on weekends with their exuberant Belizean nightlife that calls out from across the river.

Included in this adventurous excursion are several destinations, Xunantunich Archeological Site, San Ignacio Farmers Market, Belize Botanical Garden, Chocolate Making, Traditional Maya Meal / Pottery Presentation, River Tubing

Activities & Excursions

Xunantunich, “Maiden of the Rock/Stone Woman”, is a Classic Maya (200-900 CE) archaeological zone located in western Belize along the border with Guatemala. It is situated on a high ridge overlooking the Mopan River. This strategic location allowed for the control of trade along this important river, and through the adjoining valley. To enter the site the river needs to be crossed by means of a hand operated cable ferry.

Located on the banks of the Macal River, the San Ignacio Farmers Market is a truly unique opportunity to experience Belizean life. Farmers, traders, and vendors from all walks of Belizean life gather together to sell their wares. Don’t be surprised to hear a blend of German, English, Spanish, Creole and the Mayan tongue as everyone from Mennonite farmers to indigenous craftsmen use the San Ignacio Market to sell their delicious local fruits, vegetables, medicinal herbs, and handmade clothing. Just beyond the market lies the heart of San Ignacio town, filled with restaurants and shops. A trip to the market or a stroll in town is the perfect way to experience the local flavors of Belize.

Belize Botanic Gardens is 45 acres of native and exotic plants growing in the Cayo district of western Belize. The garden is in a valley on the banks of the Macal River, surrounded by the Maya Mountain foothills. The main focus of BBG is encouraging sustainable agriculture, maintaining conservation, collections and engaging in conservation education. They aim to inspire visitors to protect plants and their habitats by learning more about the world of plants.
